VIDEO JOURNALISM

During my first two years of high school I took a class called video communications. I was a shy underclassmen who needed a confidence boost. Video was a way for me to gain confidence. I was appointed as a lead anchor for Laingsburg High School live news broadcast. Every Friday, I would read of the school's important dates, times, game scores, etc. Along with being a lead news anchor I also created videos to be played during the broadcast.

We're Live: The thrill of being on a live news broadcast is an experience I will never forget. Every Friday, one of my closest friends and I would dress up and read of the latest happenings. This gave me the ability to gain confidence and public speaking skills. This news video is from my sophomore year in video communications.

A New Kind of Photography: My love of photography started when I bought my first camera: a GoPro. Instead of simply snapping pictures on my low quality phone, I had a high definition camera. I took it on family vacations capturing footage of sharks and taking pictures of amazing landscapes. This video is a GoPro commercial I made sophomore year. This commerical won honorable mention at the MIPA awards.

Pre-Game Rituals: Another passion of mine is athletics. Along with allowing me to stay fit, sports have helped become the person I am today. This video shows some of the pre-game rituals of different Laingsburg atheletes. This video was entered in the sports feature story category and won third place at the MIPA awards.
